Haukadalur valley

Hauaukadalur valley is a remote place situated in west Iceland, in the Dalir area.  It is a typical valley formed by glaciers in the last Ice Age. Haukadalur lake mirrors the ridged mountains on a good day and is a good source for trout and salmon.   The dramatic landscape is quite picturesque.  Rocky slopes and ridges, with innumerable waterfalls of all sizes.  Being so remote you will feel solitude in the valley, far away from noises and even without connection to telecommunication in places.  The valley is a good place to hike, either on the lowland for an easy stroll or for serious climbing into the surrounding mountains.
